Graduated tax, 4 rates (5.35%, 6.80%, 7.85%, 9.85%) unchanged for 2026; brackets adjusted up 2.369% for inflation over 2025. No local/city income taxes anywhere in MN. Standard deduction phases out for very high earners (reduced by 3% of AGI over a threshold). Dependent exemption: $5,300 per dependent for 2026 (also income-phased out). Social Security benefits: full subtraction for many filers, then phases out by AGI - many retirees pay no MN tax on SS. Other retirement income (pensions, 401k/IRA) is generally taxable; a Public Pension subtraction exists for certain public pensions. MFS standard deduction $15,300; HOH ~$23,000.
